10th International RSSU Cup Moscow Open will Have an Even Stronger List of Participants

The ninth international RSSU Cup "Moscow Open 2013" was concluded on Sunday evening, February 10th, on the Russian State Social University campus.

The awards to the winners and medalists of the competition were presented by the Chair of the Guardian Board of the Russian Chess Federation Arkadi Dvorkovich, the first deputy head of Moscomsport Nikolai Gulyaev, RSSU rector Lidia Fedyakina, RSSU founding rector Vasily Ivanovich Zhukov and first vice-president of the Moscow Chess Federation Nikita Kim.

Addressing the participants of the festival Arkadi Dvorkovich remarked that the RSSU Cup "Moscow Open" included a broad variety of chess tournaments - for kids, veterans, professionals and chess composers. He thanked the organizers for preservation of chess traditions and making this tournament more and more interesting and stronger. "We will do our best to make chess popular in Russia and in the world, to make children take it up and grow up to be good, strong players," concluded Arkadi Vladimirovich.

"Love sport, practice sport, play chess!" said Nikolay Gulyaev to all, who were present in the hall that evening.Vasily Ivanovich Zukov gave welcoming words in behalf of the President of the International Chess Federation Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and President of the Moscow Chess Federation Vladimir Palikhaty, who were unable to attend the ceremony due to serious reasons. "It is the ninth time this century that the Russian State Social University became the chess capital of the world," - said Zhukov. He promised that the next, tenth, edition of the RSSU Cup Moscow Open will certainly take place and that it will present even stronger representation.

On behalf of the President of the Moscow Chess Federation Vladimir Mironovich Palikhata, the first Vice-President of the Moscow Chess Federation Nikita Kim thanked all tournament's partners for excellent organization of the tournament and its participants for the fantastic atmosphere, which prevailed over all ten days of the competition.

"I envy you in a good sense of the word, - the RSSU rector Lidia Fedyakina told the audience. - You have spent the last 10 days engaged in your favorite game. We are always happy to see chess players on our University premises, and not only on the occasion of this tournament." Afterwards Lidia Vasilievna declared the ninth International RSSU Chess Cup Moscow Open 2013 closed.
