An opening ceremony for the Moscow Championship Superfinal was held in the Moscow chess lounge, located in the Central Litterateur House, where the drawing of the men's and women's superfinal. At the beginning of the event the guests were addressed by Moscow Chess Federation president, famous businessman and philanthropist Vladimir Palikhata. He said that he was very pleased to see the leading chess players of the Moscow chess lounge, recently beginning their work in the CLH. Chief arbiter Alexander Zlochevsky then told the assembly the tournament regulations, after which the drawing took place. With the curiosity of classic literary aphorisms, the contestants drew.
The first five rounds of both superfinals, the women's and the men's, are on Thursday January 30—the closing four on Friday January 31.
A reminder that the Moscow Championship souperfinal is the first tournament of the Moscow Open 2014, International RSSU Cup program, which officially opens on February 1.
